First Thursday @ 49 / 77 Geary
For June's First Thursday I was a little gutsy and opted to cover the galleries in 49 and 77 Geary. I have to say, big props to Alan Bamberger for covering it monthly; shooting 49 / 77 is probably the biggest challenge I've ever undertaken. But, much was learned in the process, and you can check out the report on FecalFace.com.

MegWolfe.net - Flickr Sketches & Facebook
Out with the old, and in with the new. The former "Sketch for.." section of MegWolfe.net has been updated with a Flickr widget! Now, when I upload sketches and in progress, you'll see them instantly appear on www.megwolfe.net! Exciting! (well, exciting for me anyway.. it's less work)
The sketches are also automated to pop up on Twitter and Facebook, so if you're following me via either channel, you'll get them there too. However, I plan to keep the updates reasonably moderate (one or two images a week), so as not to bombard anyone. I probably tweet more than enough as it stands.
Also, I managed to secure my Facebook username! You can now click over to http://www.facebook.com/meganwolfe to easily connect with my profile and friend me.

Megan Wolfe Pigeons in Progress
This week I wrapped up another piece for the show in September. However, rather than show it in its entirety, I thought I would tease you guys with a snippet! (Note that this is just a small part of a larger piece - the actual work is 22 x 28 inches)
The End is Near @ Babylon Falling
It's been a pleasure covering the art receptions of this independent bookstore, and "The End is Near" is a show not to be missed. With this last report, we say our fond farewells to Nob Hill's very own Babylon Falling.

Working On the Solo Show
The days are rolling by, and I've been hard at work on new drawings for my September solo show at Cafe Royale. So far, so good. The pieces in this series will be 22 x 28 inches, graphite pencil on paper. After working on the "ginormous" 44 x 60 inch drawing from a previous video blog, I'm taking a break from the wax pencil.. I think I've punished myself enough, though why I was punishing myself, I'm still unsure.
In terms of concept.. I'm sticking with the same ideas, but pushing them further. For this show, I'm focusing more on hoards of pigeons, and chaotic scenes. I was always interested in that aspect, but now I want to be less subtle, and more dynamic. Honestly, I can't wait to get more of this series finished so I can see them together in sequence. It's exciting!
Lastly, I updated www.megwolfe.net with a new Sketch. Sooner or later I'll get caught up with the back-log of sketches and dump them all into a post.. but for now, the one for April / May will have to do.

Sketch Tuesdays @ 111 Minna
The boss-man Trippe and I teamed up to photograph this month's edition of Sketch Tuesdays. As usual, the bar / gallery was packed with artists drinking and drawing! (and, in some cases, collaging) Click over to FecalFace.com for our pics and report!

Ready, Set, Draw! @ Hang Gallery
It's 2:00 am, and before I shove off to bed, I wanted to drop you guys a photo from last weekend. However, more soon to come! As soon as I get all of the pics together, I'll be putting a nice slideshow together (yay!) that will probably end up being the next Video Blog.
In terms of how the event itself went.. the Hang Sketch Rally was intense, and it was an honor to be a special guest artist at the gallery. At the end of the day, Hang even chose to keep the unsold drawings for further promotion and potential sales (they're also keeping the prices at $50). So, the sketches I did that didn't immediately find a home, are now, actually, hanging at Hang Gallery! Sweet!
Again, more pics soon to come!

Brett Amory & Nancy Chan
A few weeks ago, I ventured uphill to check out the latest work from Brett Amory and Nancy Chan at Hyde Street Gallery (a neat space, I really like the neighborhood up there). Pics and review on Fecal Face!

Progress Report - Drafting New Artwork
Lately, I've been a little wrapped up in the work on my drafting table, and have neglected to blog. I haven't forgotten though! In terms of what I've been working on, I'm still rendering the second half of the 44 x 60 inch drawing I mentioned in Video Blog 005. But, I've also started three smaller pieces, and am planning for more.

John Wentz @ D-Structure

Mood and presence, plus a haunting concept, C3's show at Gallery Three presented an interesting challenge.. how do you capture in jpegs what should really be experienced? My photos and report on Fecal Face.

Video Blog 005 - Technical Difficulties on So Many Levels
I also want to give a shout-out to Robin Pedrero of "Pocketful of Colors", for awarding Afterthoughts with her "Art Blogs that Rock My World" award! (Thanks again, Robin!) I will now, in turn, offer links to a few of my own, recent, favorites:
Matthew Palladino & Ryan Shaffer @ White Walls
My latest adventure to White Walls has been on Fecal Face for a while, but in case you would like to revisit it, here's a link! (also included are my pics of Patrick Segui's work at the Shooting Gallery, as well as Ashley Taylor's additional shots from White Walls)
